Agentic AI and Community-Embedded DeFi: Tokenising Conservation as a Financial Primitive for Inclusion in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The research introduces the "Conservation Finance Stack," a five-layer modular architecture designed to transform ecological, cultural, financial, and human capital into interoperable on-chain assets. This system addresses structural gaps in Kenya's informal economy by integrating agentic AI with decentralised finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) tokenisation. The framework is implemented through two live infrastructures—HISA People Chain and KAI Protocol—and is grounded in a real-world deployment with the Oloolua Forest Community Forest Association. It allows community members to use verified conservation activities as collateral for credit, bridging the gap between ecological stewardship and financial opportunity.
